Usually when I 'eat healthy' and try to lose weight, I cut out all oils. For example, if I were to make a stir fry - I wouldn't use oil, It would sort of steam the vegetables in a little water. I've always found it difficult to lose weight, even though I was eating few calories and exercising a lot!

In the past week, I decided (for no particular reason!) to not shy away from oil.

For example, last night I made a stir fry and roasted tofu. I added 2 tea spoons of sunflower oil to the stir fry, and rubbed 2 teaspoon on the tofu to roast it. This split between two people meant I'd had 2 teaspoons of oil in my meal. The meal came to about 400 Cal.

I've also been eating almonds. I would usually not eat nuts, or any high-fat food. I have about 6 almonds on a morning.

In the past 3 DAYS I've lost 4lbs! I know for sure this is because of the added fat in my diet, it's the only thing I'm doing different!

Also, I found out that fat is actually really good for you (not all of it, though, of course!). It's vital for healthy skin, hair and liver.

Anyone with a scientific explanation on this would be most welcome!

I'm definitely going to start eating foods that I usually shy away from, such as avocado, nuts and various oils!

So, for an extra 180 Cal, I say add 2 tea spoons of sunflower oil (or any other healthy oil) to your cooking! :drinker:

Maybe your hormones were out of whack from being on a low fat diet. Fats in my understanding, helps regulate your hormones, lubricates your joints and the other stuff you mentioned.
