Workouts to help out with Vaulting

Ok, so I am joining a vaulting team this winter. Not just any type of vaulting, I'm talking about Equestrian Vaulting. I have little to no gymnastics experience and am trying to gain flexibility. What type of workouts do most gymnasts/dancers do to stay limber? And what type of workouts are best to gain more upper body and core strength?

    push ups- pull ups- grip strength

    compound lifting.

    good for you- I've ridden my whole life- and as much as I love the idea of vaulting- I could never do it. To much for my pansy *kitten*!

    Thanks, I'll definitely have to try that.

    After trying to play college rugby, I feel vaulting would be a better sport for me. I'm ready to try something new and more in my field of ability. :)
