About calorie counting

I've been on many diets, the only times it worked for me was when I was counting calories. Years ago I read that rougly you can calculate this. If you are sedentry multiply your weight times ten. Thats how many calories you are eating each day to maintain that weight. If you are modertely active multiply by 12,and maybe a little more if you are a man. Having that number deduct Five hundred calories a day to equal 3500 calories a week which is a 1 lb. weight loss per week. To loose two you'd have to deduct 1000 calories daily. This is hard to do, so I burn the other five hundred calories I need, and I am losing two lbs. a week. Having said all this if you are short it is more difficult. A five foot woman should only weigh around 110-120 lbs. That means unless she is very active she could only eat 1100 - 1200 calories per day which is called too few. For smaller people to lose that weight it is difficult and slow. You may want to lower your calories some, but I'd take vitamins, and eat as nutritious as possible. I am only 5 ft. tall and losing 2 lbs.a week. I burn 500 for 1 lb.and get the other lb. with diet. Good luck hope this info helps.
