I feel like a douche

So last year I really busted my bum and lost over 30 pounds with eating healthy and working out. Then I got back together with an ex...got married...and gained back 20 pounds. I know it is my fault for letting it happen but he didn't seem FOR me getting and staying healthy. He would put all kinds of crap food in the house, tease me when I would work out, which made me feel pretty defeated, especially since I have social anxiety. I started to not leave the house again and stopped working out...luckily I managed to escape from that doomed relationship and we are having it annulled (oops). Yesterday I cleaned out the cabinet and fridge and replaced the crap with healthy stuff and I plan to start day 1 of my workout today. I just hope this time I can stay focused and not feel like I need some guy in my life, especially one who sucks at supporting a loved ones decision to be healthy..mind you, he gained over 60 pounds during our last break-up and refused to workout and eat healthy with me. I guess he liked being over weight.

So if you're a motivational person I would be okay if you added me, because sometimes I need a good verbal b*tch slap.

Good on you for dumping him, your worth more than someone who makes fun of your healthy lifestyle. He's the idiot for not looking after the only body he'll ever have.

Sounds like you already made the best decision for your health by getting rid of someone who wasn't supportive. I'm pretty sure that someone who would tease you for working out does not have your best interest at heart. You don't need "some guy" in your life. Don't ever settle for less than you deserve. OK lecture over :)

Anyway. You already know what you have to do since you lost the weight before. Make small changes, don't deny yourself foods that you love (just have less of them), log honestly and move more. Surrounding myself (virtually) with those who are supportive and encouraging has helped to get me through the rough times and has made celebrating my progress even more fun!!! You can do this :)

One foot in front of the other and don't look back, the past is behind you for a reason. Take care of yourself first and then everything will fall into line! You've got this! Feel free to add me if you'd like :)

Thank you for the post. I also, often, feel like a complete douche. It is hard to forgive myself for letting things get out of hand. But honestly, the fact you have recognized it at 20 pounds instead of 50 is FANTASTIC. You don't have too far to go to get back on track and its going to be so fun to put yourself first again! Keep it up gal - you so got this!
