How to keep motivated?

Im sure this has been said over and over. But I start/stop/get serious/slack.
UGH!
How can I stay on track? Like today I'm all about it. Went to the gym, ate breakfast, even ran the stairs at work during my lunch break... (I work at a hospital, ran up and down 7 floors twice)
I got demotivated before because I stopped eating fast food, cut out pop, starting running and drank about my weight in water every day and only lost about 5-6 lbs.
It takes time, it takes time....it takes time...be patient.... repeat.

I always go back to why I'm doing it in the first place. Why did you decide to start down this path? It's not going to be easy and will probably take a bit more time than you expect so you'll need to have a solid reason for doing this. Losing weight for the sake of losing weight doesn't work very well (if it did, none of us would be here, would we?) but having an internal connection to your reason will make you more likely to succeed.
For example, I found success when I finally took a deep look at my life and I realized that with my high cholesterol (I was only 27 at the time) and the fact that I had been overweight since childhood, I was on the fast track to keeling over dead from a heart attack by the time I was 40. No bueño! Also, ALL of my older aunts are overweight and suffering from illnesses and issues because of it. I did NOT want that to be my future! I was literally scared for my life and THAT was what motivated me for five years to get the weight off and it worked!

I am exactly the same just now. Yesterday I was fine but today I had a load of junk and didn't exercise. I just find it so hard at this time of year. They say Christmas is only one day but there is so much food everywhere!!!!
For the past 4 weeks I have been off/on with my motivation and it's starting to wear me down.....0
