Editing my food list

How can I edit my food list? The "recent" and "frequent"? There are too many foods and often listed by brand names so it's hard to find them alphabetically and many I no longer use. I want to clean it up and make it easier to use!

Just select the unwanted food in the list then go to the bottom of that page and on the right hand side is a delete tab.0

When you are in your diary, and you've gone to add food - there is an arrow at the top box to the left where you can sort it alphabetically or by default which is most used/recent on top. I can only delete stuff out of my log list when I'm on my mobile app. I can't see where you clean it up if on the computer.0

From my home computer - step by step
Go to food diary
Select 'add food' for breakfast (or any other meal)
Select 'apple' (or any/all food that you dont want in the list)
Scroll down the page (at the bottom right hand side)
Select 'delete from list' tab0 -
I'm trying to do the same thing. I can only do it from my "frequent" tab, which has a very small percentage of all the foods in my records. I'm on a PC. ????0

I assume you are asking about the Recent list and not your actual Food Diary, because you can go back to individual days in your Food Diary and delete the food items one by one.
Please see this article on the MFP Help pages...

The Recent list just displays up to the last 100 items you, yourself, added to your Food Diary. Those food items will eventually drop off of the Recent list display after you log more items. You can not delete them from the Recent list. If you want, you can change your default display to the Frequent list, from which you can hide previous food items that you added to your Food Diary and do not want to see displayed on a list of foods. On the Web version, navigate to FOOD > Settings and change Default Add Food View to Frequent. On the Android app, navigate to Settings > Diary Settings and set Default Search Tabs to Frequent.
The only way to have the Recent list not display those items that you added to your Food Diary is for you to go back to your Food Diary and delete all instances of those unwanted items from every day that you logged them. However, if you delete those unwanted entries from your Food Diary, be aware that your macros will not be correct for those previous days and any Reports, if you use that, will not be correct.0
