So, tomorrow I'm sticking a whole broiler in my slow cooker, and I want to try it with fines herbes. Any suggestions on amounts/ delivery (in a butter sauce, under the skin, etc.)?

Also, my last chicken came out too tender to get the bones easily--about how long should I be cooking three pounds on low heat?
