3 things I've Learned on My Weight-Loss Journey

1) Your body can't take you where your mind won't allow it
This is so important! Whatever you say to yourself about your looks, your
abilities, WHATEVER - that's how you're going to feel. So if you're half way
through your workout and saying "I cannot do one more rep," you're probably not
going to. And if you're just beginning your fitness journey and ALREADY saying
"I'll never be this way or that way," THATS PROBABLY TRUE TOO. Controlling your
thoughts, for me any ways, is 10 times harder than any physical action, but
learning to do so has made me better physically, and more importantly, mentally
as well.
2) It truly is a marathon, not a sprint
I've heard this time and time again and never gave it much consideration or care
because I didn't want it to be true. BUT IT IS. Before exercising and taking
note of the crap I was putting in my mouth I tried diet pills, weight doctors,
Jenny Craig, cleanses, and basically everything else you could think of. YEAH,
they worked for a short period of time but never once I stopped any given
program. BUT, once I made small daily changes changes in an effort to eat
healthier and exercise, I was amazed at how quickly my body changed and
satisfied that ➡️III Made it happen, no one else.
3) I can't out exercise a bad diet
Notice I said "I" here because I don't want to get attacked by someone with a
crazy awesome metabolism that thinks you can. BUT ANYWAYS, I made a certain
amount of progress with a pretty crappy diet and then hit a plateau. I adjusted
my eating slightly and went through the same process again. NOW I'm consistently
making an effort to eat food that FUELS me - not just fills me up temporarily.
And WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT?!? I feel better. I have more energy, get through my
workouts easier, and feel sustained for most of the day. I'm not starving, I'm
not deprived, I eat what I want and when I want a treat - I have it, but I don't
let it derail a whole day or week.
SORRY that was so long If you hung in there til now...
