Well, it's one day, and it's unlikely to derail you in the longrun....
But if you already know you'll be eating that much, and you already feel guilty... then why are you doing it? No one is making you eat that many calories. Just eat the same thing, but eat a little less. I mean, it's fine if you want to eat it - not a biggie - but if you know it's going to make you feel bad, why go through that?

I had a cheat day yesterday and had 2500 calories... life will go on, just get back on track tomorrow. It's your birthday for goodness sake!0

You're still in a deficit for the week. Chill.0

Its your birthday. It is about being together as a family and celebrating you. Next year they will be celebrating a 22 carrot you, not the gold plated one you have been.
You are not obliged to eat every crumb on your plate. You might have been brought up, to waste not, want not, but it you are full you are full, let yourself feel full. Chew each mouthful you take well and savour it the flavour.
Most of all Savour the Moment. Have a good meal0 -
guilt is a wasted emotion. If its going to make you feel bad, don't do it. If you know what the consequences are, and you're going to do it anyway, then don't feel bad about it. its not going to get you anywhere.0

This is what i do, i still eat the things that i love in smaller portion size. And what i have realized is that you want even be able to eat no where near as much as you think because im pretty sure your stomach have shrink. I can eat no where near as much as normally could. Bet you'll end up having to take leftovers. My mom also taught me to eat a salad first and that will make you not as much of your main dish. Hope this help. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! ENJOY0

In all actuality it may help you out.
If you've been really strict and eating perfect then throwing your body something like a birthday meal can rev up that metabolism.
It's ok to have a cheat meal. Enjoy it then get back to work tomorrow.
The fact that you feel guilty about it just mean you are dedicated to a healthy you and that's awesome.

Life is too short to worry bout taking one day off, none of us know whats ahead tomorow, so relax enjoy and have fun,0

Happy birthday!!
Do what you want to do. It's your day. :drinker:
If you feel bad about the calories, eat at home first -- fill up on oatmeal or soup or steamed greens. Then have a tiny amount of food and a piece of cake at the restaurant. Whatever you do, I hope you have a great time.0 -

Happy Birthday!!!
Take note, you said "will be eating." In all likelihood you won't even finish it all since you rarely eat like that anymore. If you do, so what, there will be days like this for the rest of your life!0 -
Three days of the year I don't log my calories: my birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Hasn't derailed me yet.0

Happy Birthday!
One smaller calorie meal will not get you to your goal any more than one larger calorie meal will de-rail you from your goal.
If you have been in a deficit for some time a higher calorie meal may be of benefit as leptin levels (google leptin if you don't know what it is) may be decreased0 -

Happy Birthday.
Actually, this smacks of a really unhealthy relationship with food. OP, it's your birthday. On this day and other days of celebration there is going to be food - lots of really delicious food. Occasional indulgences - even going waaaay over your daily intake goal - are absolutely NOT going to stop, damage or undo your weight loss progress. Might you see temporary increases on the scale? Sure! Water weight gains are a funny thing. Will it go back down? Absolutely. Is it worth stressing about? Never. If you're going to have long-term success with this thing, and make it sustainable in the long run, you need to stop thinking of food as the enemy, and recognize that there will be times like this that you will - and can - overindulge. And that it's totally ok. Enjoy your party, the company, and the food. Pick your favorite things, enjoy them, and then the next day just get right back to your normal game plan.

It's not the end of the world. Relax, enjoy the food and then the next day just get right back to it. A few days over here and there aren't going to be that detrimental to your goal.
I just got back from a 9 day vacation in Florida. 3 of those days were spent at theme parks, and the others unpacking an apartment for my sister in law. We ate out for all but 3 meals. I still lost weight. And I enjoyed the heck out of myself.
Point being, stop worrying.0 -
Don't eat anything all day?
Go for a real long walk and help pad a deficit0
