    I think it's just personal preference.

    I did it for a long time. But I'm usually starving when I wake up, so I started eating first, then working out. Gives me much more energy and stamina.

    Individual preference. There is no wrong answer.

    Me personally, if I'm running less than 10 miles I eat nothing. If I'm putting a couple intense hours in at the gym banana and/or granola bar.

    If I don't eat before, I pass out. But that's just me and my wonky blood sugar. For most people it doesn't matter.
