Fruit puts me over my sugar limit

How much sugar to too much. My daily dietary goal is 24 but I LOVE fruit. A couple of servings of fruit puts me over my limit. Is the amount of sugar intake adjustable depending on the type of food. I really hate having to avoid even fruit.

Unless you have a medical condition that requires monitoring it, ignore it. Sugar is a carb, so you already track it. And enjoy :)

I have the same issue! Dietary guidelines suggest two servings of fruit a day for good health. An apple and a banana puts me over the sugar macros for the day, not to mention if I have yogurt, milk, peanut butter, carrots, or tons of other natural things that are healthy. I have decided to pretty much ignore that one.

MFP really should do away with the default sugar recommendation IMO. Seeing red at the end of the day there is too confusing.

Assuming you're consuming anything approaching a reasonable fruit intake and aren't getting a "lot" that is added sugar from other sources, I wouldn't (and don't) even worry about it.

FWIW I'm already over mine today after a 16 oz glass of milk, pear, and moderately sweetened yogurt.

It does for just about everyone... MFP's estimate is low and unless you have diabetes or pre-diabetes I wouldn't worry about it.
