I just have a question, because I started tracking fiber in my food diary and am finding that I usually go over by a few on it, but not my calorie/fat/carb/protein amounts. I know Fiber is good for the body but is a little too much every day not good?

MFP's setting for fiber is actually quite low - adults should be getting 25 to 35 g of fiber a day. I changed my fiber goal to be 25g/day. Even if you were to go over that by a little, it would be okay, as long as you're not way over for an extended period. Check out this article:

It's one of the best I've found about fiber.

My nutritionist told me that 20 g of fiber a day is a minimum, and that I should shoot for 50 g. Fiber keeps blood sugar steady and keeps the digestive tract healthy. One word of caution-raise your fiber intake slowly to avoid digestive upset. Congrats on your huge weight loss!

Thank you Hozik for the congrats and Thank you both for the information, I'm not sure how to adjust just my fiber without messing everything up, but I'll just keep track of it in my head now that I know that It's okay to have more fiber than what MFP is suggesting.

MFP sets their daily allowance for fiber really low, adults should try and consume 25-35 grams of fiber everyday. Here's an article for more info. Best of luck! :)

Go to "My Home" --> "Goals" --> Change Goals --> Custom
On this screen you'll see all the different things MFP tracks. On the left hand side partway down the list is fiber. Replace whatever default number is there with your new goal. Hit "Change Goals". This will leave everything but the Fiber the same, as long as you don't mess with anything else while you're in there.

I agree with the other posters. Don't be worried about too much fiber. Your body will tell you if you went overboard on it. I've been getting 30-40 grams a day for a while now and am doing just fine!
