I work at a restaurant, I usually go in at 10:30. I have started going to the gym in the mornings before work. On Mon,Tues, & Thurs I do about an hour of strength training with 30 mins of cardio and on Wed & Fri, I do an hour of cardio. I typically eat oatmeal for breakfast and eat a Quest bar when I get to work.
I don't eat enough meat so I'm also trying to incorporate protein shakes into my diet. Because I go straight to work, I can't leave perishable items in my car while I'm in the gym. I just need advice on what I should do and should I just mix protein powder with water when I get to work? And is a protein shake + a Quest bar too much protein at one time?
I've been doing good with exercising but the diet part has been really hard for me and I think it is what is holding me back from losing these last 10lbs! So any help would be GREATLY appreciated, thank you!

I get the protein shakes that are pre-made and leave it in my car in a lunch bag cooler and ice pack while at the gym. Its cold and ready when I am done with my workout and helps me get the protein I need, immediately following the weight lifting session. Its help my workout recovery so much but such a simple thing as having the shake.0

Protein is obviously a great post workout snack, but unless you are intensely training for a figure competition or a very heavy lifter it's possible to overload on those protein supplements and bars.
For pre workout, I'll always have some sort of carb or fruit, as protein bogs me down. I'll usually have a banana and grab a homemade bar (with dates and almonds, kind of like a Kind or Lara bar).
Post workout, I do have a shake sometimes, but I'll usually have a lunchbox with an ice pack with a greek yogurt or a couple of hardboiled eggs. I don't know if it'd last in the car for you, but just another option!0
