At home cardio workouts?

Hey,

I'm new to this neck of the woods, and I was hoping for some advice for some 30 minute+ exercise routines that I can do at home in my living room. I don't have it in my budget for a £30 a month gym membership. I'm a fairly active person anyway, I walk to and from work every day, and am on my feet all through my shift (I wore a pedometer to work the other day and walked 16,000 steps in a 6 hour shift) but my heart rate never increases and I think that is why I'm not losing weight. It also probably has something to do with the tub of christmas chocolates that I've been munching through too!

Any links to youtube videos, or printable routines that you have found work a treat would be very much appreciated!

Gillian Michaels' 30 day shred is a good starting point. If you're feeling brave, go for Insanity. Do you have Sky tv? They show Gillian Michaels and other workouts on the fitness channels, you can just record them and do them at home

Try www.dailyhiit.com for some high intensity interval workout of workouts you can do at home. They have lots of specialized equipment but a lot of it you can substitute your own dumbbells.

I never even knew this channel existed! Just sat and set quite a lot of different work outs to record. So much choice! I'm sure I'll find some that will suit me, thanks!

I'd also suggest Insanity. Pretty awesome results if you put the effort in.

Insanity is excellent, but more like 40-55 mins, not 30. You don't even have to buy the discs as you can find the workouts free online now

Kettlebells? You could buy a used one fairly cheap.

    Tabata workouts?

    I'd second the Blogilates workouts.

Its mainly Pilates which isn't high intensity cardio but she does dance videos, HIIT workouts and HIIT-lates.

It's really fun and I've stuck with the monthly calendar for months now.

I sometimes add in Jillians Michaels BFBM dvd too if I want more cardio.

    Sworkit! http://sworkit.com/

I've only discovered this recently and really like it. It's free, customisable, and if you have an Android or Apple device, you can download the app and sync with MFP straight away.

Also maybe you don't have it in the budget for a gym membership but if you have money for a one time investment, you could get a kettlebell and do kettlebell routines, or a stepper (or make one, just be sure it's sturdy) and do step routines, or get a lower model stationary bike (they're like $100...not sure what the pound conversion is right now).
