Calories burned on stationary bike

I bought a stationary exercise bike yesterday and on the little screen it tells you how many calories you're burning. However, I've heard that these are usually not even close to accurate since they don't take into account your height/weight/other things.
Apparently a HRM monitor is the most accurate way of knowing, but I can't afford one right now.
Bearing this in mind, what's the best way I can gauge my cals burned on the bike?
I'm 5'3 and weigh 119 lbs, so if I pedal for an hour at light intensity, how much would I likely burn? Approximately?
