I'm cool with the drama thread and totally on board with all your stances--(well, you do go overboard on #10...they have their purpose)--but I digress. I think what I'm more concerned about is the holiday tie. This is meant to be ironic, right?

Joy joy, I feel your treason deeply.

I vote for punch bowl. It's such a nice two words. Always makes me think of those plastic things that go around the neck at theme parties and standing around at office parties waiting for the canapés. I like canapés except those that the put carrots or that small piece of red pepper that somehow stains and runs on the pâté. I'm there standing with my canapé, looking down at the red stain and thinking, "is this natural or coloring? When were these made? If I put them down will someone notice that I sniffed it?" And then feeling guilty, I wait and put in Laura plate when she goes to the bathroom.

#1. Your use of the word "sentient" in conjunction with a sincere compliment is something I appreciate deeply.
#2. I too use the word "doohickey" though I prefer "thingamabobber". Jingle Bells is a holiday favorite of mine.
#3. Only awesome dads wear dollar store gifts from their kids.
#4. I apologize for asking the irony question. Clearly, irony was not the goal and the tie is no longer of concern.
