Yes I do. Go for walks and eat at a deficit and you will lose weight.0

Back in the late '90 I lost weight by:
1) walking for 1 hour each day (4mph + on my treadmill)
2) watching what I ate (essentially I stopped snacking and ate 3 balanced meals per day, I wasn't counting calories per se)
It's the caloric deficit that causes the weight loss, walking can help you create / maintain a deficit but, more importantly, it improves cardiovascular health.0 -

yep and when it starts to get too easy try to jog then build up to running. That is how I am losing the weight.0 -

Walking is a great idea. Of course you have to eat at a deficit and there are lots of posts and information about that.
Just keep in mind - if you follow the MFP approach and eat back your exercise calories - that MFP tends to overestimate the energy expenditure of activities. So if you want a more accurate estimate of how many calories you are burning during a walk you can use these formulas (adapted from "Energy Expenditure of Walking and Running," Medicine & Science in Sport & Exercise, Cameron et al, Dec. 2004. more info here http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/running-v-walking-how-many-calories-will-you-burn and here http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning ):
Your Net Calorie Burn/Mile during a walk = 0.30 x your weight in lbs0 -
Yes walking will do it. As above, mfp tends to overestimate calories used, if you have a smart phone download the free application "runkeeper", add in you height & weight & it measures distance walked via GPS and gives calories used
I, and many others, do not eat those calories back, but they are a handy buffer for the odd splurge0 -
i lost my first 40 pound with walking and only walking as my main form of exercise. i used to walk 3-4 miles at a brisk pace 5 days a week. i still on days i cant make it to the gym make sure i take AT LEAST a 45-60 min walk each day just to keep moving and keep active. it also is rather therapeutic for me and helps me clear my head0

And I mean to lose weight sorry for the spelling error. Thank you so much everyone for the advice I appreciate it.0

Walking has been my primary additional exercise. Don't just go for walks; work in extra steps throughout the day. I love my Fitbit for tracking my activity. I thought I was sedentary until I started using it.0

I don't really walk. I do those Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. Usually anything with 4 or 5 miles advanced or brisk walks. I used them when I taking a rest day from Turbo fire. If you "walk" with intensity, you can burn just as many calories doing that as a Turbo Fire workout. I'm losing weight.0

Strictly speaking, cut out the bit 'Yes I do. Go for walks and', then this is correct0 -
