Peppermint Mocha Latte
Tis the Season! Created my own version of Starbucks "Skinny" Peppermint Mocha Latte and thought I'd share.
Makes one large 20 oz cup
3 cups strong brewed coffee
3/4 cup skim milk (almond, soy, regular etc)
2-4 drop peppermint oil
1/2 scoop ON Whey Double Rich Chocolate protein powder (optional)
1 TBSP Hershey chocolate cocoa powder
Top with 2 TBSP free cool whip
Add protein powder with milk and shake shake shake.
Add protein/milk, coffee, peppermint oil and cocoa powder together - stirring really well.
I don't have an espresso maker - so I just brew my coffee and microwave for a minute or so. You could heat milk and protein powder up in sauce pan and then add to freshly brewed coffee.
Top with whipped topping. Chocolate shaving would be yummy too.
Cal 147; Fat 1 g; carbs 16.5; fiber 2.0 g; protein 19g
I also make a pretty yummy Pumpkin Spice Latte - using Trutein Pumpkin Spice Protein powder - topped with cinnamon!

Yes you could use peppermint extract - I've heard it's about a 1 to 5 ratio - so you would just use more extract (maybe a teaspoon). I imagine you could even melt or break up candy canes too.
I believe the Starbucks is about 170 calories without whip cream - but I may be mistaken....so this version a bit of a calorie savor. However, Starbucks would not have as much protein if that's what your after If you remove protein powder it would be 60 less than 147 - which is a big difference. I can't comment on the cost, as I had all the fixings except peppermint oil and it was only 6.00 and will last for a long time.0 -

Our Starbucks advertises their Skinny Peppermint Mocha no whip as 100 calories, but I've seen it advertised elsewhere as 130 calories. Yours is so close that worth saving a few bucks Thanks for the recipe. I've used sugar free hershey's syrup with Pepppermint extract before. Very yummy. Orange extract with hershey's syrup is great for a mandarin mocha too!0
