Illness and Food Craving

I'm down with some sort of cold right now - chills, cold sweats, fatigue, sinus pain, hacking, etc. Every time I get this way, I crave hot ham and cheese sandwiches. Not homemade, but the good ones from a deli. Is my body craving something that it needs to cope, or is it just psychological? Will giving it what it wants speed up my healing or should I stick to my diet? I'm thinking it is all in my head and just something that I have somehow programmed myself to do. Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It's the flu darlin', and ham & cheese is your comfort food. Perhaps it is what Mom made for you as a child when you were sick? I am just getting over this dmn flu myself, and I had no appetite whatsoever. So eat what your body asks for and get well soon. :flowerforyou:0

Weird coincidence, the last time I had a bad virus I intensely craved ham and cheese, too. I normally don't even like ham sandwiches.0

maybe it's a salt thing. otherwise id just chalk it up to its warm and makes your tummy feel good0
