Do you post your weight loss pictures outside of MFP?

I posted my first picture of my progress on FB yesterday. I was wearing my underwear but I didn't care because I thought the pictures were astounding that my body had changed so much in so little time. My Mom flipped out, but I didn't care. Usually I would never post ANY real pictures of myself because I don't like taking pictures but now that I am on this journey, I'm in the mirror staring at my body and snapping pics every week! I'm starting to love my body so much, the way it looks, the way it feels and it changes so much, like a piece of art.

I felt so sexy posting those pics and I am not even near where I want to be!

I guess my question really is- are you posting your scantily clad pics outside of MFP for an audience of people who don't know what this is REALLY all about and how much effort it takes? How do they respond? How do you feel showing your body off?

No. But I dont post pictures of my body on MFP either. I guess it's just a personal preference. I'm not one for walking around naked even on my own.......

But I think you should do whatever you feel comfortable with :flowerforyou:

I don't even really talk about it anywhere but here or if people ask I will tell and maybe show a progress picture. Nothing too revealing. I've sent pics to my mom, she lives far away, so she could see the progress. I have too many people on my fb that I wouldn't want to see that much of me. LOL I don't think there is anything wrong with it though. I think it's more how you feel about it. You should be proud of how far you've come. It takes a lot of dedication to get in shape and lose weight. Sounds like your mom was just being a mom. Don't sweat it.

Just once and I was clothed. I stopped telling friends and family about my diet and fitness goals.

Not my progress photos, but there are some bra/underwear/topless (but tasteful, can't see anything, nudity is implied) photos on a photographer's website to promote her boudoir photo package. Other than that, fully clothed. I have clients, kids, parents, who I'd prefer not to stumble across anything too risqué.

No but I'm really private. I don't talk about lifting or running or calorie counting outside of MFP either. My thought is that when you put yourself out there like that you're opening yourself up to all kinds of feedback, and I don't want any.

No. I don’t even talk weighloss or fitness outside MFP. Because people either don't care, which makes me sound obnoxious and obsessed, or they are full of broscience and on fad diets, which frustrates me.

That was a lesson learned the hard way.

I dont on FB because I have too many work associates on there, but I do post pictures on another social site. Some of us have a little contest going on as to who can make the most changes. We are also pushing each other to succeed, so the pictures are worth it. However, I known most of those folks for many years and are close friends.
  • Only my absolute best friends know about my fitness and weight goals. I have way too many friends on facebook to post something I think is so private. MFP friends are all people I don't know in real life, plus I would never post anything innapropriate.

I only post pics here. And try not to talk about it much else where, but people are starting to notice a difference. It is nice to hear a compliment about how well I am doing.

I try not too, I only post when I hit a big milestone. I don't have a lot of support and most my Facebook friends are overweight and I don't like to brag. I will brag about all the little stuff on here

As of this moment no. I might post one or two to MFP, but Facebook, has too many business contacts, it is a different environment. I thought about posting one a few weeks ago to celebrate a birthday, as a "so this is 42." but decided against it.

Maybe I am private, but MFP is more of a support group, so I feel like it is more acceptable and correct, as we are sharing the changes and losses together in a sense.

Nope. I didn't take any before photos and I have very few "progress" photos, all of which involve full on clothes.

Sometimes I wish I had taken more before & progress pics. I think it would help me to see the changes even more than I do already.

I would never share a scantily clad photo on MFP and certainly not in other social media like facebook. Holy moly...don't even want to consider it.
  • I've only posted one on Facebook. I do post a lot on Instagram.
