How do you choose what program to do?

I am familiar with Beach Body and had lost 40 lbs previously with P90X. However, I also have Turbo Fire, Chalean Extreme, Insanity, and Power 90. I was wondering how you choose what program to do?
My background: I got sick and haven't worked out in about a month consistently. So, January 6, is my new target date to start a workout program again. I loved P90X except I got bored after I attempted a second round. So I was doing TF and loved it but want to incorporate weights so I was adding CLX on days when the workouts were less than 40 minutes.
I wanted to see what others have had the most success with and how you choose your program(s).
I'm hoping with any Christmas bonus I may get that I can get P90X3 cause . . . .well Tony does rock!

Step 1: Figure out what your goal(s) is/are.
Step 2: Look at the proven programs available.
Step 3: Figure out which program best fits your goal(s).
Step 4: Follow that program.
For me, I want(ed) to get stronger. As such, I started out my "real" strength training with Starting Strength and moved on (when my progress started to stagnate) to 5/3/1.0 -
My food choices aren't gathered under a cool name, although several months before I started I went to a couple Maximized Living presentations that were centered around Paleo eating.
My real moment of truth came with some health issues, and to address those needs, I stopped eating salt, sugar, grain, and dairy. My health problems resolved and I lost 52+ pounds, and it's all still working.
My eating choices were based on a lot of reading and researching, and a lot of self experimentation.
I feel REALLY well, for the first time in years, and for an old lady with thyroid disease, that's a really great comment to be able to make. If I can succeed, anyone can.0 -
Definitely look at what your goals are and research the program that will give you the best results for that goal!
