I got my polar ft7 today as an Xmas present from my husband and an unfortunate event happened and manual english part is gone lol thanks to my little one (my fault though) I set up my watch without it though it was easy but idk where exactly do put the strap during workout and how's does strap actually work do I do something to activate sensor transmitter that goes in strap ?

You get the strap wet and it goes around your mid-section, just under your breast area. I'm not sure how it works, but you click the little polar transmitter to the strap and set your watch. Hope that helps.

Yes, just wet the strap. The watch will sync with the sensor on the strap. Put the button part in the middle. You can also go to the polar site, or even just google it to get instructions for the F7 in pdf format. I did that because it had a lot more information than what came with the hrm.

So I used my watch on a different workout which was Zumba and my hr average was 175 it stated I burned 250 cals in 30 minutes so even though I was sweating alot and feel like I did workout does that seem over estimated?

Here's a link to the user manual for your FT7 for future reference.

    http://www.polar.com/e_manuals/FT7/Polar_FT7_user_manual_English/Polar_FT7_user_manual_EN.pdf

250 cals for 30 minutes sounds about right with a heart rate that high. However, I will say an average of 175 does sound a bit high, even for something where you're moving around a lot like Zumba. Keep an eye on it to see if that's usual for you.

FYI, sweat isn't necessarily an indication of how hard you're working because all of us sweat in different ways - some people sweat easily, some people take longer to get a sweat going, if at all.

i wear mine with the sensor on the back. i'm well endowed and when i wore the sensor in front, the movement shifted the strap and sensor too much and i would have to stop and readjust during the workout.

with the sensor in the back i can just cover it with my sports bra and go about my sweaty business

I will try that hopefully its nothing else when I work out it doesn't have to be adjusted for me but I shall give that I try hopefully my watch isn't defective
  • I have a Polar Ft7 and love it..one of the best investments I have made...I wear it on the front and whilst it can be a bit difficult to get it on once I got it done it is done...I honestly think that one of the best things one can do for training is to get an HRM..I am puzzled why there are hardly any people in my gym have one...weird...

I see a few people in the gym with the regular watch hr monitor I think it calculates by pulse not sure and my hrm did it again today it stated I burned 680 for 1 hr of max insanity with hr of 195 max and average 173 I didn't feel discomfort and lowered my hr by taking a break when it reached 190's the app on iPhone wasn't that off either I have been deducting 100 cals from exercise burn just in case it's overestimating should I keep doing that or ale off more or input exactly what polar watch states my burn was ?
