Minimal running shoes- help!

Normally I run in Merrell Pace Glove shoes. I love them and have had no problem running in them. However, I needed a new pair of shoes. I decided to go for a little more cushion since I'm training for a half marathon. A couple days ago I purchased Brooks Pure Connect 3. I tried them on at the running store and the fit great. Now that I'm running longer distances in them, my left ankle is bleeding. Is this something that will go away when I break in the shoes? I'm not sure if I can return them since I've worn them.

Probably can't return them so you might try wearing different socks or adding a little bandage until the shoes are broken in good.

I run with Merrell barefoot toe shoes. Since I don't wear socks with them, I know the spots that are rubbed the wrong way. I put athletic sweat resistant tape on those spots. I find that it prevents bleeding and blisters.
If you don't want to experiment with tape, I would take them back. Most stores want you to be satisfied. They will probably take them back and give you a store credit (bring a receipt if possible). But if they don't offer you store credit then you know not to shop there for your next pair. It is worth a try.
Your feet are a pretty important part of running. :) Running shoes are meant to protect your feet, they shouldn't be part of the problem. I ran my first half marathon a few weeks ago and I used an old pair of minimal toe shoes thinking it was better than using a new pair that I was not used to... Well, I wore a hole in both shoes and it was unpleasant.
    Good luck.

Thanks. I hate wearing socks and haven't wore them in so long. I feel like I need to though with my new shoes. I'm going to try hard to return them and get Merrell again. If not, i'll try the tape. Thanks!
