Fasting tips anyone?

I'm fasting tomorrow due to religious beliefs (I'm Muslim) not the intermit fasting thing some people go on but rather not eating from sunrise to sunset. I've never fasted while I was calorie counting so I was wondering what's the best way to go about it. Usually I have rice and curry just before sunrise (lol yes that may seem gross but when you're bengali rice and curry is acceptable any time ) and then I'd eat whatever's in the house at sunset but I want to choose a healthier but sustainable alternative for my sunrise meal.
Also, how would I record this on my food diary? I'll probably eat my "breakfast" meal just before I go to sleep tonight as it will be a late one, do I include this for today's meal or tomorrow?
Thanks in advance

It depends on what's in your curry. I'd try to have a combination of fat, protein, and fiber to get me through the day, especially as you're actually eating your pre-sunrise meal the previous evening. (Have you done that before? I don't quite understand why you would make the fast even longer than the religious rules require.) Are you allowed to have water during the day?
As for when you log it, I think it's really up to you. If it were me, if I'm eating it before I go to bed, I log it with everything else that I've eaten since I woke up (even if I'm up late and eating after midnight). But since it's standing in for your breakfast for the next day, there's nothing wrong with logging it for the next day. The MFP logging system is a tool to serve you, not end you to its will.0 -
If I remember right that often means no water as well, so drink plenty of it in advance. Dehydration is far more annoying than hunger. Other than that, keep busy and focused on why you're fasting.0

Usually its lamb curry, sometimes I have it with rice, sometimes with toast. I've eaten my sunrise meal in the previous evening loads of times just because I'm lazy and cba to get up at 3am and eat :noway:
Thanks, I think I'll log it tomorrow otherwise I'd be way over today and probably way under tomorow0 -
