My name is Sarah and I started here about a month ago and really have never been too good at message boards. I have a 2 1/2 year old son and ever since I had him I seem to be holding on to all of my baby weight. I am hoping to lose at least 65 pounds. I really should lose 80 but I want to start somewhere more with in my reach.
I love to eat and exercising is boring to me.
Any tips on making exercise a bit more fun would be welcome.
thanks.

Welcome to MFP! My daughter is 4 and I am still trying to lose the baby weight. I am like you and don't really enjoy exercising. I tried running and was told by friends that I would love it and I hated it. Now, I do wii fit plus and my daughter likes to do it with me. She helps me with stretches and counts while I do sit-ups. She's a great motivator. I have learned to enjoy moving and I don't call it exercising.
  • Hello Sarah! I love to dance so anything with music is motivating to me. I tend to gravitate to stuff like Zumba, Turbo Jam, Fat Blaster's Latin Dance and Dance Dance Revolution on XBox 360 with the dance mats. I love that stuff. The XBox, based on intensity and length of the workout calculates the amount of calories you burn. You input your height and weight before you begin. Plus I wear a pedometer also when doing that stuff just to test the accuracy of both.
  • My husband has an Xbox 360. do they have exercise programs for that?
  • Sarah - Yes, there is a program for the XBox 360. It's pretty cheap, too, I think. It's called Yourself Fitness. It's pretty good and I used it for a while when our XBox still worked. It's not my favorite, but it does the trick! :)
