losing weight in 2-3 months

Hi, I am a size 14-16 (Depending on the store really) and I'm getting married in April. I fell off the wagon a couple of months ago and I'm getting back to eating healthy and working out. I'm going tomorrow to try on wedding dresses and I'm totally dreading looking at myself in the mirror because i know I will be very unhappy with what I look like, I know it's probably a bit soon to be looking at a wedding dress but I really want to make a big effort in trying to go down a couple of sizes before the wedding. I was wondering if anyone thinks this is possible? The dresses I liked are obviously for skinnier girls and the biggest size goes to 14, ideally I'd love to go down to a size 12 but that's a long term commitment. I want to know if it's possible to go down 2 sizes in two months. Am I crazy? Is this impossible? :(

  • Congrats on the Wedding! Anything is possible it’s just what are you willing to sacrifice in the process. To lose 2 sizes in 2 month will most likely damage your metabolism, throw your hormones out and maybe even your thyroid. Then you will have to deal with all those issues and the relapse weight you will most likely put on after you stopped the crash diet. I think it’s best to just look at long term health and life style change, which will not lead to 2 size loss for the wedding but a happy you in long term.

    Good luck ;)

I have gone down 2 sizes in 2 months, but that's with a lot of exercise and eating right. However, I would say the two months before a wedding are very stressful, and stress is a killer for dieting. I think try to eat as healthy as possible and perhaps use exercise as a stress reliever, but no one will know if you're a 14 or a 12 anyway! Get healthy for your life, not just to fit into the dress! And invest in a good undergarment. They make beautiful dresses in all sizes, by the way. I was like an 18 when I got married and I got an amazing dress. So, if you're not seeing what you like, shop elsewhere.

    Good luck to you!

Push ups are your friend. Eat at a calorie deficit and exercise. I did push ups every day for a few months leading up to my wedding and my dress fit (miraculously)
