Frustration

Using the Furhman and Hyman diets (along with going gluten free), in addition to 5 to 6 days of exercise (spin, circuit training), I was able to go from 167 to 133 pounds. Then after 9 months, I burnt out: stopped tracking in myfitnesspal and started slipping on the diet and stopped all exercise. Back to 144 pounds :(

Well congrats on the weight loss from before!

It proves you have what it takes to make it happen.

Yes, you're frustrated with yourself now, beating yourself up.... but hey! You didn't gain the entire weight back and you realized that early! Give yourself props for recognizing that you need to get back on the horse!

Now, get back into the game and lose that weight that you want! It isn't that much to get back to where you were and the only reason to be mad or upset with yourself is if you give up.

So, smile, and accept you cannot change the past but you damn sure can change your future.
  • I searched for the two diets--they are similar
to what I've been doing for 5.5 months
    for the Paleo/primitive lifestyle.
I'm still enjoying this way of eating, without hunger,
and with no regrets over the foods I gave up.

Could you help us understand what was happening
when you stopped logging in at MFP?
  • Thanks for your comments. I think my lifelong vegetarian diet also made it challenging. The reason I suddenly stopped exercise and my new way of eating stems from feeling fatigued and dizzy most of the time. I thought at first that I was overtrainibg and undereating (gluten free and veggie with lower carbs is hard). First I started using a heart rate monitor and was surprised when I found out that all this time I was exercising at around 90% of my max heart rate. I got scared and stopped working out.....and here I am.

But you're right...time to get back with the program.
