okay to eat more calories though crossing macros limit?

When I'm counting calories, do I have to pay a lot of attention to the other macros then? Like when I have calories left to eat for but my fat calorie intake has reached its limit, can I still eat the last 200 calories of say nuts, although they contain a lot of fat and I would therefore go over the goal for fat in one day even if I don't cross the limit for my calories overall? I'm a bit confused!

Entirely up to you. Just depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Many people just want to lose weight -- and a calorie deficit regardless of macro issues is enough. Others are also focused on limiting certain macros or hitting certain targets with macros -- in that case they will be more inclined to eat to not just calories but their own selected macro targets.

It's ok, unless you have some specific goal (like low carb). Protein and fat macros are best thought of as minimums. MFP default macro settings are kind of arbitrary anyway.

If you are following a specific plan that has you trying to hit certain macros, or if you find you feel better on a certain combination of macros, then it would start to matter.
