You Wanna Know What Is Worse Than A Thief?!

I was just at Walmart stocking up on my Nutrisystem muffins, lunch bars, and pepp patties. I brought the coupons from the last batch of goodies I bought there and left the -$5 coupons for the 5-day pack there for those who happened to buy them, bc that's the kind of girl I am.

I went to go find my Illy Cappuccinos to replace my stupid Starbucks addiction when what do I see?!

Two girls holding hands looking lovingly into one another's eyes while chewing something and then all of the sudden one girl chucks a half-eaten plastic container of chocolate/caramel turtles onto the shelf! They began laughing and then looked around to make sure no one saw them stealing/grazing/eating the chocolates and dumping them and I locked eyes with them and looked in DISGUST!

Partly, bc they were stealing and partly bc now I WANTED THOSE CHOCOLATE CARAMEL TURTLES!!!!

So to answer the above question: What Is Worse Than A Thief? A thief who steals turtles!

While they hid in the corner until the coast was clear, I reported them. They gave me the ol' one finger salute on my way out and in return I smiled and waved goodbye. Some people these days are so out of control. Their poor families have to be humiliated by these two stealing snacks...ugh. Can you imagine going to jail for that?!

Convict A: What are you in for?
Convict B: Uh, stealing turtles, man.

P.S. Listen ladies, if your date takes you to Walmart to steal dessert, your life isn't going that great and you may want to reconsider things.

Wrong is wrong. It is indeed wrong to steal from a store. 'Shrink' costs everyone. People don't speak up anymore or turn other people in. Sad.

It happens all the time. I usually hit the local grocery store around 10pm, and there frequently are teens wandering about. They will hit the self-serve donut area, and scarf a donut as they walk around the back of the store. I always tell the clerk or manager when I see it.

Me thinks you're one of those people who does the exact same thing.

Stealing is stealing no matter what the form.

OP: I would have done the same thing or better yet, I would have said something to the girls and humiliated them.

First of all, -89 pounds?! You are amazing!

Yes, it is SO annoying thinking about how many jobs thieves are affecting and they are just oblivious, aren't they?!

I have totally eaten a protein bar as I walked through the store shopping, because my blood sugar was getting low, but the difference is, I save the damned wrapper and give it to the cashier to ring up. They have never minded that. I also sometimes buy a coke when I start my shopping, but I hold on to the receipt while I'm in the store. Stealing leads to higher prices for us all.

Hopefully, you don't meet up with them on the street, on their next date, when they're on meth, and have a knife.

Eating turtles is just wrong, even if you pay for them. Poor turtle. And why do people stick them in boxes anyway? Any fool knows a turtle gotta breathe.

She didn't say it was a big deal. It was wrong of those girls and I'm glad the OP spoke up.

Sometimes I let my kids snack on crackers as we grocery shop, but we always make sure to pay for it when we are done. Once I left something on the bottom of the cart and forgot it was there. I felt so bad when I got out to my car and realized it that I went back into the store and insisted on paying for it.

That's not theft, it's what I call a "restaurant style" purchase. Get the food, eat it, pay the bill. :-)

+1 Stores jack up their prices to make up for shoplifters. In other words, you pay more for your stuff because the store knows they will have some of their stuff will be stolen - or eaten in this case. I for one would appreciate if I didn't have those costs added to the things I buy.

As a mom, I'd definitely want to know if one of those kids (or both) was mine. Shoplifting for thrill seeking seems harmless to some, but it could indicate that there's more going on. I hope the store management contacted the parents (if they're not adults)

Maybe they should think about avoiding tax in the future if they want to promote honesty in their customers.

    Just kidding.

I'm just here to be congratulated on my weight loss.
