The more I eat the more weight I lose!

Hi, I have lost 42 lbs since August through a combination of diet and exercise which I am clearly very happy about!
But I have noticed a slight trend. If I go a whole week where I am eating very well and exercising every day I won't see any change in my weight, but as soon as I have a few days off exercising and I up my calorie intake I will then notice a few more pounds dropped!
Is there is an explanation for this or is it just coincidence?
Thanks

Hi,
I have noticed something similar to this at times too, and I think you might be giving credit to the wrong part of the equation :-) When you are exercising, especially if really pushing yourself, your muscles can become swollen, holding onto extra fluids as they recover. So, on those days when you're taking a break, you are giving your muscles a chance to recover and lose the swelling/water retention that they had.
It sounds like you're doing a great job - keep up this eating and working out pattern, as it is important to give those muscles a chance to relax from time to time :-) Clearly, what you are doing is working!0 -
This happens to me too. I think sometimes our body just needs a break once in a while. Also, are you on the pill? Because the week I go off it I lose around a kilo straight up.0

Hi, I'm a man so definitely not on the pill lol.0 -
That happens to me too. On days when I think, "Wow, I ate a lot today, I wouldn't be surprised if the scale goes up tomorrow," that's when it goes down. It must have something to do with water retention, because logically it's the days when I'm eating less/exercising more that are leading to my weight loss.0
