    Hi,

I try to go for a minimum of 5 days/week but really strive for 6-7 I like to do an hour of cardio. I used to use a lack of time as an excuse not to go. Now, even if I only have 30 minutes, I will go as it is better than nothing at all.

You're doing a great job with your 15 pounds! Congrats!

Pretty much every day because I like to eat ;). Honestly, I try to do something daily ~ the gym at least five times a week for 40 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights or abs or something like that. I walk a few miles each day when I don't go.

I do 30 minutes a day on the treadmill or play golf about 6 times a week. I take one day to rest and enjoy....

    Mon-Thu: 60 min Jazzercise class
Friday is my errand day so I usually spend all afternoon out walking around doing things, or I might go out for a walk when I get home
Sat: at least an hour of swimming
Sun: I try to make this my rest day, but usually by mid-afternoon I start getting restless and wind up going for a walk or something

Usually 7 days, I guess averaging it out ... a bit over an hour a day.

Legs / Chest / Back / Shoulders-Arms one day each
Usually one of them a second time (most often chest because it's my weakness)
    Boxing one day
    Cardio/abs-only one day

Sometimes I whizz back to gym in the evening for a short cardio/abs catch-up

Ocassionally I take say 2 or 3 days off in a row if I feel a bit overtrained, but not often. Usually I wait till that's dictated by being out of town or whatever.

My doc says that anything less than 30 minutes is useless b/c you dont get into the "fat" stores until you've been going for 20. If doing cardio I go for about 45 minutes, if fat burn (slower heart rate) I go for about 1.5hrs. I will tell you though, I had borderline high blood work numbers in all categories but within only 90-days of 3x 45 min cardio workouts all my numbers were spot on perfect.

My numbers just got better.

I shoot for 5 but end up doing 6 days per week on my treadmill, 4.0 mph for 50 minutes
  • Every other day 30 min to 1 hour depending on what I am doing that day.

I try to do 6 days a week at least an hour each time. Otherwise, I just don't burn enough calories as my heart rate doesn't elevate as much anymore.

But honestly, if you are starting from nothing anything at all will help. Work your way up to 5-6 days a week slowly. Make it enjoyable not unrealistic. :)

I go to the gym at least 5 days out of the week---right around 75 minutes first thing in the morning (cardio) and then midmorning i either take a 3.5 mile walk/jog or take a class at the gym and do some extra cardio and weights which ends up being a hour and a half. Some days I do a workout video in the afternoon, which is the Shred, and thats no longer than a half hour---So, I usually exercise close to 3 hours a day 5 days a week---and then have 2 light rest days where I won't do anything, or just one of the above.

35-70 minutes of cardio(depending on if I get to do 1 or 2 walk/jogs) 6-7 days per week, and 20-30 minutes of stretching, calisthenics, strength training. 6-7 days per week.

My workout week tends to look basically like this:

    Monday:
    Step class: 60mins ~800cals
    Resistance: 60mins ~300cals

    Tuesday:
Posture, stability, mobility, breathing: 60mins ~200cals
    Yoga: 60mins ~300cals
    Run: 20mins ~250cals

    Wednesday:
    Step class: 60mins ~800cals
    Resistance: 60mins ~300cals

    Thursday:
    Cycle: 60mins ~700cals
    Yoga: 60mins ~300cals

    Friday:
    Cycle: 60mins ~700cals
    Resistance: 60mins ~300cals

    Saturday:
    Cycle: 60mins ~700cals
    Resistance: 60mins ~300cals
    Yoga: 60mins ~300cals

    Sunday:
Posture, stability, mobility, breathing: 60mins ~200cals

    So each week includes:
    6x1hr cardio
    3x1hr resistance
    5x1hr yoga etc
Running is usually off-schedule, so I do it mostly just when I feel like it, or if it isn't a scheduled cardio day and I had a craving for chocolate and blew my calorie goal ;)

I agree treadmills are boring  Perhaps its time to try somethign different. An aerobics dvd, dancersize, swimming, jumping rope, just walking in a nice park with your ipod. Or using the treadmill in a different way, called HIIT.

HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training

It's where you walk for a certain time and then run for a certain time. Can be 1 min walk, 1 min jog/run, 2 mins walk, 1 min run or even 30 seconds....google it! It's all about excelling your heart rate then slowing it down. It's supposed to burn fat more efficiently too  For me, it makes all exercise more interesting. Especially the treadmill when you go at one pace all the time. It increases your endurance too.

I workout 5 days per week and try and mix things up. One day I'll do a step class, one Day HIIT, one day strength training plus half a step dvd.

I think that you need to find something that floats your boat a bit more?

    Good luck :flowerforyou:

It depends on where I'm at in my training cycle. I usually work out 5-6 days a week, at least 30 minutes. There have been workouts that have lasted over 2 hours, but I'd say the average is around an hour or so on weight training/strongman days, and 30-45 minutes for cardio days.
  • My problem is I am at home with a 2 year old and no stroller. So exercising isn't very easy for me. Plus I hate it. lol
  • My days vary according to my training schedule for my half marathon. But as an example, here's this week's schedule.

Monday: 3 mile easy paced run and a 60 minute weight training class (Total Body)
    Tuesday: 8 mile tempo run
Wednesday: 1 hour on the ellipitcal
Thursday: 4 mile easy paced run and 30 minutes of strength training
    Friday: 11 mile run
Saturday: 1 hour on the ellipitcal
Sunday: 4 mile easy run and probably a 30 minute swim.

I was supposed to do a 1 hour strength class again today, but I'm whiped out right now. Going to take it easy today and only do the ellipitcal.

Can you join a gym that offers child care or buy a stroller? I am home with a 4 year old and 18 month old and my DH is deployed. While my 4 year old is at preschool, I run with the toddler in the jogging stroller. Or I take both of them to the gym while I workout. I also pay a babysitter to come 2 evenings a week so I can do my longer runs. (Don't want to push a 27 lb baby for 11 miles).

I got to where I had to make it a priorty for me. I actually traded in my dining out money for the month (we follow the Dave Ramsey plan) for babysitting money. Now, I use the money to run instead of eat out. LOL

Most weeks I exercise 6 days a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Duration depends on what I'm doing, but it could be as little as 45 minutes or as long as 2.5 hours. Average is 60-90 minutes.

Every day...except the days I don't (haha). Seriously, I try to get in something everyday like a P90x DVD, jogging, elliptical, walking. I feel soooo much better too!
