Hi there, i first gained a lot of weight after a back injury and then the following year a car accident made things much worse. As the weight piled on from not being able to move very well, so too did my Polycystic Ovary Syndrome get worse and as PCOS gets worse it causes you to gain more weight. So for the past 10 years i have been on a downward spiral trying to battle to regain mobility and also battling to try to get rid of the weight. In 2008 at the age of 43 and heading to 44 .. i had my 4th child ... a little girl after 3 boys. My boys are all grown up now at 27, 19 and 14. And now in 2010 my baby girl has turned 2.

I am still breastfeeding her at the moment but given that she is 2 years old and doesnt need it for survival as she did before i thought as long as i dont mess to much trying to make big changes the milk will still be there for her. I would imagine that i will breastfeed her for another 6 months as i did with my sons years ago. After i stop breastfeeding i can get more serious about bigger changes without affecting her.

I am very tall so people do not realise just how overweight i am ... the extra height and the fact that i put weight on evenly means people dont realise how much i have to lose. I am facing a huge battle to lose this but really really want to look and feel good again. I still have spinal damage to L5, Thoracic spine, C3, 4, 5 and have PCOS and arthritis. So it wont be easy. Having these health problems causes me to get depressed from time to time and lose the motivation to keep going. By nature i am a happy person .... its just all these health problems that make me get sad.

I am active as much as i can be with my back and on some weeks more active than others. I cannot walk up or down hills. But i can dance. I belly dance; which has built my core strength to help my back. So i can dance as much as i want. So that will be my main fitness. But because my body has become so used to dancing i will have to step it up and dance daily to get an effect from it. I walk the dog on the flat areas of where i live with the baby in the pram.
