Kefir

Hello,
I've recently tried kefir and enjoy it. Seems like great nutrients and a great alternative to eating yogurt (which I do not annoy at all). I'm on maintenance mode now with some hopes for building muscle and it seems like a good food to add for overall nutrition and post workout fruit/whey/kefir smoothies. Anyone using kefir or is it more cost effective to just use yogurt?
Also, are there things to look for or avoid in buying kefir? I'd like to find one that has not added sweeteners but any other suggestions? I've seen low fat and regular and have wondered which is better as well. Thanks.

No clue, but I love Kefir! I try to choose brands that have the active cultures and the fewest additives. Labne is the brand I usually buy. Yum!0

You can buy the cultures to make your own. With a little effort and some practice, it's not that hard to get the hang of it. Then, you have more control over your kefir. Additives, the milk used, the sourness of the final product… Lots more control.
Just thought I'd put that out there.0 -

I love kefir, but gave it up because of the sodium content, for me its too high for 8 ounces whilst I am still losing weight.
You can buy the plain and: add frozen fruits - banana, mango, strawberries to name a few. That way you control the sugar content etc.0
