Not a weight lifter. But I have to wonder about any advice to NOT work the muscles in a specific part of your body. Whatever the size of your butt, don't you want the muscles to be tight?

Time and gravity are not always kind. And I think firm muscles will assure that your derriere stays nicely lifted throughout your life. The spreading pancake look is not pretty even on those with thin rearage.

I agree with those who encourage you to enjoy your body as it is. There are many who long for greater "assets". It is also true that, as you lose weight, your efforts will eventually show in the greatest "problem" areas.

I definitely feel your pain, girl! I'm 5'3, total pear, and ALL BUTT & THIGHS! Honestly, my best advice is don't skip your cardio. It helps you lose weight all over. If you're anything like me, though, your butt and thighs are the last to start looking thinner. But, for anyone that says don't do squats or lunges because you'll get muscle-y, I don't agree. Do squats and lunges, galore! It has indeed been toning my very thick thighs. Unfortunately, I'll never have that "thigh gap", but I can at least tone them. And as for the butt.... Big butts are sexy! do your squats and you'll come to love the big booty, because it'll be shapely. And every women around will envy you :D Good luck!

Please do not do any squats, lunges and all those exercises to work on building your butt muscle, dont do any inclination on the treadmill or eliptical.

that is about the worst advice I have heard in a while….

haha! who the heck said that? squat/lunges hater?

    Must have some dainty legs.
