I'm planning to do exercise the day after and then the next few days although I won't be drinking alcohol or having many sweet treats

I weight myself every day. Not going to change that because it happens to be the holidays.

    But each to their own...

I weigh myself daily, won't stop because of the holiday. It's just one tool in many that I use to track my progress. Actually my husband and I made a bet on how much the scale will bounce up with everything we have planned. My guess is 5 lbs he says 2. Think this is the first time I'm hoping to gain!

I'd do it just for interest's sake but whether you do it or not is another matter. Would you find it interesting or would you get upset? Let's face it, it's more likely to rise so the question is really, "How much will it rise?"

This is one of the few things that really does relate to "everyone is different".
I'm in the camp of weighing every day and treating the number as data with no emotional attachment.

But if it's likely to upset you or puts you into a guilt trip from seeing a temporary gain then don't weigh yourself.
Food and the social aspects of eating should be a source of pleasure as well as fuel IMO.
  • I weigh myself every week and that isn't going to change because of the holidays.. It really depends on you, if you want to still have some control and count the calories or you can enjoy the holidays and deal with it after and just get back on track. As long as you are happy with your progress and results at the end, it doesn't matter.
