Hi I live in the boondocks of NH and we do not have a local gym nearby, we used to but they went out of business.
I am wondering if anyone would have any tips or brilliant ideas, on how to do these exercises without the gym equipment that a gym has. They are all weighted (uses weight machines) exercises.
Standing leg curls.
Lying leg curls
Standing Calf Raises
Seated Calf Raises - thought for these last two I might be able to use free weights but just seeing if anyone has any other ideas.
Close Grip Pushdowns (for triceps) - uses the bar to pull down.
Reverse & Wide Grip Pull downs
Leg Press
and lastly Leg Extensions
I can't go out and buy this equipment either single mom, in school, works but limited budget, so if you were going to suggest that please don't lol.

You can't be the oonly person affected - you could see if any others who have lost this gym might want to get together and pool resources to create a substitute?0

without pondering too much.... my first thought is.... couldyou buy some ankle and wrist wts....and do the moves of the exercise.. this could be a start and not too expensive to begin.0

p90x....hand weights and a chin-up bar0

Mary, I actually can do most of the leg ones that way I think. Most likely even the pull down ones if I grab a bar and wear the weights. I'll have to experiment and great idea Thank you!
Lucifa, the gyms been out of business for awhile, but if I had been on it back then, that would have worked.
and Cfaith - Have a chin up bar guess I can try adding that as well. I might look into p90 in the future, it looks intense.0 -
You're welcome also...If you but your mindinto the exercise... imagine you are working 100 lbs... or 50 or whatever and move your muscles as if you are against that weight the body will respond and work harder...... Good luck0

You could also get a resistance band instead of the ankle weights and do all the leg exercises also.0

Amazon has some good videos for resistance bands. You can mimic nearly all the weight machines using the bands, chairs, doors and a pull up bar or ceiling hook. They even have different levels of resistance in bands. I think I paid like 30 bucks for a set of bands and a video (a few years ago).
Good luck!0
