Dang! wy would she deactivate her account? Because she felt she was getting back at everybody? . Poor, poor kid.0

Now I'm even more confused, she got a new account and is back on but she is still angry. Listen OP, you are doing so much better than I am doing, and I've been on here over a year. Follow your senses and do what you feel you need to do.0

...to confuse my muscles...
You're doomed.0 -
you already answered your question:Okay okaayyyy I know, I need to be patient.
Yeah, maybe you will do better on low carb, for some people that helps reduce cravings for more carbs, which as a result keeps overall calories down...but some people who go low carb lose their minds because they want bread sooooo bad they can't stick to it; some people do better with lots of cardio, but for some people lots of cardio makes them hungrier, which can undo all that calorie burn; some people do intermittent fasting, while some people swear by making sure you eat breakfast and have 6 meals a day...none of these things has any effect on weight loss other than helping contribute to one's caloric deficit. You have to find out what strategies work for you.
I think some of us get cranky over that question, too, because we have worked so hard, for so long...and to come in here and say "how can I do it faster" is almost like an insult...if there were a healthy way to do it fast, we'd all be doing it faster. it's not about fast, its about patience and persistence and being in this for the long haul. Even if you only have a few pounds to lose, to keep it off you have to keep eating right, forever, there's no short cut, and there's no do it and be done with it. This is for life.0 -
Wow. I'm so glad I deactivated my account. Looking at all the replies - some of them mocking: "boo, you mean I have to work for it?" "And I'd just figured out where they stock rainbows and unicorn farts!" and all the rest - it was the right decision.
I started another account specifically to come on and reply to this. So listen up. I work my butt off in the gym and log my calories in a notebook whether I'm active on MFP or not. So no, I have not given up. And my week's work is not undone. (And actually, I've ALWAYS worked out in the gym - I'm a hip hop dancer. Exercise and hard work are not my problem - food is. So please don't insult me with the 'boo, hard work' comments.)
The reason I'm on MFP is so that when I have questions I have a place to come to find knowledge. This has been unpleasant, and anything but supportive.
I actually asked my trainer the same question today. He suggested mixing my schedule up so that my body doesn't get used to doing things in a certain order all the time. To lift heavier weights and lower the reps to confuse my muscles (I have been lifting seriously for months now - started bench pressing 32kg today up from 27kg). He suggested trying the 8/16 method of intermittent fasting, and adding more cardio in the form of incline walking, 3-4 x per week.
Would it have killed y'all to come up with similar suggestions, of things I might not have been doing that worked for YOU? Instead I got a ton of sarcastic and some insulting remarks instead.
But thanks to the people who didn't do that - appreciated.
Good luck y'all.
Merry Christmas, Caity! Hope Santa brings you some patience. :drinker:0 -

work hard
you'll be there before you know it.0 -
If you stick with it for long enough it won't feel like work anymore OP.
It will be enjoyable or at least a routine part of your every day life.
I think 4.5lbs a week is aggressive enough (probably too aggressive.)
How long has it taken you to gain the weight? You can't really expect to lose it any faster than that.0 -
did anyone recommend the use of stimulants?0

I've heard certain MFP members say you don't require one.

it is an insult. it makes me think that you think that you are better than me and deserve it more. when the reality is told to you and you reject it, i begin to fear for your motivations and health in the future. then it just becomes painful. and sad.0 -

I'm not that confused. I think we are witnessing hangry, too few cals, too much pressure, unrealistic expectations, and confusion from "trainers" that say confusion is something to go for. Apparently that's not enough so MOAR MOAR MOAR tips. what ALL can I do to get there faster. OP the plain answer is you can do a whole bunch of crazy things and get there real fast, but might not be alive to see it. Before you flip a b!tch at my answer and say i'm exaggerating, i saw a girl die and so that's why when someone is acting this hell bent and irrational about weight loss, it gets my ire up and my concern feels:huh: . pls take ur time.0 -
OP, how old are you? You sound like you have some growing up to do.....0
-
I'm new to MFP, and I think the OP was judged kind of harshly here. I legitimately think she was asking from those who are experienced and who have been using MFP what tactics she could try to help things along. That's all. I don't really understand all the snarky comments. Aren't we all on here for the same thing? To find support during this journey?0

She deactivated...again.
Is this going to be a daily thing? Will there be yet a new account she'll use to reply to this thread then bounce?
Well...that'll be annoying.0 -

Yeah. It's kind of funny.
I know I can't speed up fat loss...but how can I speed up fat loss?

I'd get a new trainer. Any trainer interested in your health would say the same as people here, not suggest ways for you to get results faster. "Confusing your muscles" is funny, and more cardio?!? You should be trying to lose weight/fat doing as little cardio as possible (ie, none), not more.0 -

Eggggsactly. The first several posts answered her question perfectly and politely, but she kept up with the "I know that, but what about X" routine.
People here are very helpful and most aren't snarky (well, not as much as I am, anyway). But we've seen this dance before and it more or less ends this way so we'll have some fun in the process.
Actually, I lied. It doesn't end this way. It ends with a Mean People thread0 -

also if you do some quick mathematical advance computationals using my handy dandy calculator from what I see in the tickers there is almost a combined loss of 175lbs...not bad for a bunch of snarky people who dont know anything.0
