Should I switch it up?

I've been losing very slowly and having trouble eating low enough calories. I tend to have some winter depression problems and gain weight every winter. This year I'm on an anti-depressant and it's helping immensely, but I'm still finding it really hard to eat properly although I am exercising almost daily (some cardio, some weights, some yoga). Should I call it quits for now and bump up to maintenance for a couple of months, or is it too hard to get going again in a few months if you do that?

There's a world of difference between "calling it quits" and going into maintenance. Change your goal but keep logging everything accurately & honestly. Then you'll be in a great place when you're ready to resume losing in 2014.

Congrats on finding meds that work for you. That's a big deal.

Maybe I'll move up to maintenance and stop logging exercise. So if I don't exercise I'm at maintenance, and if I do I have a deficit. Maybe that would be easier psychologically.

That sounds like a great plan.

Your goal can be to keep off those 18 pounds you've already lost.
