What does everyone do on Christmas eve?
I think tonite we're going to play it very low key! Probably have a few friends over but nothing big. Last year we had a huge party. Not a good idea since husband got drunk and almost fell into the tree! This year I want to go to bed relatively early since my kids will be up VERY early tomorrow morning!
What are your plans??? Merry Christmas everyone!:drinker:

Drink until I am in the spirit.0

I'm going to have spaghetti and meatballs with my Italian in-laws (my husband is out to sea).0
-
Drink a bottle of wine, no X-mas tree here to fall into so no problem. Tomorrow, work off the bottle of wine.0

Go to see the play A Christmas Carol. It's a family tradition…my boys, now all grown up, don't remember a time when we didn't see it on Christmas Eve!
Merry Christmas to all!0 -
I'm working. Later tonight, I sing at church, and then my family gets schnockered on Bailey's and eats cheese and sausage and crackers. It's a family tradition.0

Take the kid around to look at Christmas Lights (after dinner) while drinking hot chocolate. Afterwards, we'll set out the cookies and milk and she goes to bed. Then it's time to wrap the toys.0

No plans. The festivities begin and end on the 25th for my family.0

I am half danish and Christmas Eve is the traditional time to celebrate Christmas for danes
so we go to my mormor & morfars house and do all the traditional danish things0 -
Going out to dinner with my husband. No wine for us; he doesn't drink and drive and my tummy doesn't respond well to alcohol any more. Maybe tomorrow we will drink a little bit.
Enjoy your Christmas Eve!0 -
Drink Christmas Ale, and wrap the last of the gifts. I may drive out to my buddy's house to lament lost youth, but I'll probably just stay home...0

Same thing I do every other day of the year - eat supper, talk with hubby, play video games.0

We open presents since I usually work early on Christmas Day and we go to family stuff after work.0

We usually have our big meal night on Christmas Eve and then go to a candlelight service. Christmas is more low key with a late meal, playing cards, etc. When I was younger we did all our gifts on Xmas Eve but not we kind of split them up. Christmas Eve has always been more of a holiday than Christmas to me.
I think it's kind of traditional among many Americans of Scandinavian heritage.0 -
Heading to the In-laws house for dinner and gifts there, then home. "Santa" has to put together toys.. lol0

i have a few beers and then see if anyone wants to slide down my chimney0

Same but instead of sliding down a chimney, I try to find someone who wants to sit on my lap and talk about the first thing that pops up0 -
Christmas Eve service at church. Then over to my brother's place for chili soup with my sibs and their families.0

I'm going to work out, then drink, then open ONE present with my DH later tonight. Not necessarily in that order.

Low key here. Everything is ready. Just chilling. Christmas day and Boxing Day are the two main events. Family over for both days. Merry Christmas :drinker:0

It's similar to Hispanic Tradition too. I'm celebrating with my b/f and his family (which means our candlelight service is Lutheran rather than the Catholic I grew up with). Nice dinner/celebration tonight (well rather loud celebration with this group) with Christmas day being rather low-key, open Santa presents with my son, catch a movie, have a nice dinner and perhaps play games on Christmas day.0 -

Lingere shopping so I can be someone's present to unwrap, or undress, in the morning.
Tonight we will be watching A Christmas Story.0 -
For me...get everything ready for Christmas day. Which is clean the house, set the table, make the pies and before dinner snacks, prep the roast and finish off with a few glasses of wine about 9 pm or so.0
