Okay guys, I have a question about TDEE - has anyone used it and does it really work. I used the calculator on freedieting.com and it tells me that I have to eat 1679 calories/day to lose weight steadily if I exercise 3 days /week. Could you please tell me what your results were and if you have a b calculator that has worked for you , I would love to know about it - Also tell me what your results were. Thanks.

Any calculation/ device will only estimate calories. It will be different for each person. You will just have to try and if you don't lose, then adjust your figures accordingly.

    This.

TDEE calculations are a starting point. Keep in mind you need to track progress over several weeks, not just one or two. I will caution that if you are finding you need to eat way below recommended TDEE - reasonable deficit, you are probably having logging issues as opposed to a much below normal metabolism (unless you have amedical condition)

I've always had success with TDEE calculations. I also found that my TDEE number and the number MFP suggests plus my exercise typically ended up in the same place.
