What am I doing wrong

Hi my name is Kim and I seem to be having a hard time losing 2 pounds a week, I've started my weight lose journey Nov 4th of this year I started off at 288 and when I weigh myself at home the scale says 284 but when I went to the doctor 2 days ago their scale said 281, I walk 3 days a week at a pace of 4.5 mph and I've been doing this since Nov 4th. About 3 years ago I lost 70 lbs doing the same thing but I was losing 2.5-3 lbs a week now it seems to be going slower I am sick but I'm on the same medicine I was on 3 years ago, I know I need to increase my water intake and I'm working on that I thought about increasing my work out to 45 minutes 4 days a week staring Monday but I have just been trying to go at a nice pace because I do have fibromyalgia plus other problems but so far so good I just know I want to get healthy and I;m tired of being unhealthy, I'm starting to get a little discouraged and I don't want to give up but the weight seem to be not really moving please any suggestions I'm all ears, thank you in advance.

November is a tough time to start losing, I think. I started in August and had made enough progress when the holiday food started appearing that it was easier to say "no" to eating more than I should. Keep the difference between your scale and your doctor's in mind, but record with the home number since it's more accessible. My doctor's scale weighs me about 3.5 lbs more than home.

Increasing your exercise will help, but what you eat also matters. So are you measuring everything you eat, at least with measuring cups? Many MFP-ers swear by a food scale - even my punk kid sister - but I don't use one and I've lost 32 pounds so far. I am not going to tell you what to eat, heaven knows I'm not a clean eater and my doctor swears that I don't eat healthy foods. ( Whatever, my labs are good and she's a bit of a nag because we are friends outside her office.) I am going to ask you to log it all because the only person you are lying to is you. After a few days, you'll see places that you know you can improve without feeling deprived. When you see them, do it. My diary is open if you want to take a peek. Even my two huge days this week were around my maintenance calories. Good luck!!

Without seeing your diary it's hard to say. ... are you eating too many calories? hormones....

It could be any number of things. Can you open your diary?
  • Thank you very much for replying back and I am going to pay mare attention to my eating I know I have had my moments but I didn't think that they were that bad but maybe I was wrong, thank you !
  • You are probably right about a number of things I thought about my medicine but I'm still on the same meds from 3 years ago when I lost 70 lbs, and yes I will open up my food diary just give me a minute because I am horrible when it comes to computer anything Lol and thank you for replying back.
