Technically I am up 1 lb.....but that's probably just normal weight fluctuations. I am still within my 5lb window, so I am good.

I don't weigh until tomorrow morning so not sure yet how it's going to go. I logged the whole week and was only very over my calories on Christmas day. Hoping it'll all average out. Guess I'll see tomorrow morning :)

Well, I was very pleasantly surprised to have lost .9 lb this morning when I weighed. I had tried to do extra Tuesday, Thursday, and yesterday to offset being way over on a Christmas Day. I only weigh once a week on Saturday mornings so wasn't sure if I'd had enough time to get rid of any bloat. Wishing others weighing this weekend the best!

Oh yes. I started this today.Maybe my son has helped me this time , He says keep up with calories. This Hcg,fat burners, etc don't work . Don't deprive yourself of food, count calories. So here is a new beginning.

Drink water, stay off the scale for a week, make healthy choices in the meantime.

    Ta da!

I normally don't weigh until Saturday morning, but thought I'd weigh in a day early just out of curiosity. I was up maybe up 0.5 lbs from last week about this time and it also appears that I've lost another 0.25" off my waist. But, I'm in maintenance so that kind of variation is pretty much the norm. I was able to completely enjoy myself on Christmas and Thanksgiving as well as all of the associated holiday treats without going overboard like I would have in years past. I'll probably weigh again tomorrow just to make it "official."

For the first time ever, I'm not going to have to worry about trying to lose weight after the first of the year. That alone is a victory in my book.

    That's Success... Congrats...

I put on about 4 pounds or so, but between eating massive amounts of carbs and sugar and sodium, that I'm not used to anymore, a lot of that is water retention. I can tell it's water retention because the body fat scale measurements have been wildly erratic over the last week and there's no way I could gain something like 3% body fat over a couple days. Even in gross calories alone, ignoring BMR and TDEE, the math also just doesn't add up to enough pounds of new fat to be possible. That would require something like a 15,000-20,000 calorie excess stored as fat.

I expect about half of it to drop after resuming my normal eating regimen and the other half after a few weeks of catching up with some extra hard workouts to compensate for the ones I couldn't fit in with company over and other socializing.

I ate within my calorie budget and I'm up 4. Very frustrated. But time of month is looming so I'm hoping its all water weight. I should have had a loss based on what I ate and how much I exercised. No clue. I think I'm going to start weighing daily vs weekly. So much effort and hope... And boom, the scale once again bursts my bubble.

I feel your pain! I think I gained approximately 10 pounds over Christmas. Too much indulging and no exercise did not help. I am slowly getting back on track, drinking more water, reducing sodium etc..I know I will be back to where I started as long as I stay focused. Got 9 miles in this morning and going to get back to lifting weights. Hang in there!
  • I put on 6 at Christmas from 23-26th. Have joined this site 2 days and 3 have gone! Just turn the page and get back to it all 6 could be gone in a week!!

Just a pound! But I did two very long shifts at work (I'm a waitress, so running around all day), so I'm not too worried about it, it'll drop off by itself now I'm back to healthy eating.

I lost 4.6 pounds. However, the weeks prior were gains so I maintained over all for the last couple of weeks. All together in December I lost 8.3 pounds.

I haven't weighed myself since monday but i only went a few hundred calories over 1200 net and even if i hadn't run on christmas and boxing day my total calories consumed were well under maintenance so i may not have lost as much as usual but probably haven't gained. That said, i am down to about 177 according to the doctor's scale as of last monday but the day before i was 182 on the digital scale at home. I don't necessarily trust that the old school doctor's scale was calibrated correctly since 5 pounds in about 14 hours seems unrealistic....i suspect my next weigh in at home will probably put me back at 180 ish since i suspect my scale was closer to the truth

I was up about 6 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I ate a TON of cookies and cakes and candies...and I ate a ton of meals at restaurants! :)

The good news is, 2 lbs have fallen off in the past 2 days. On my way back to low 120's, here I come!

    Up 4.8lbs

But I wont freak out about it. When you've lost as much as I have and you were aware of freedom in eating you really don't freak out about it :) It's the holidays and it was worth it to relax a little bit.

Reading through this quickly I think I've taken the award for biggest gain. 10.2lb since last Saturday. Not at all fussed, I logged throughout the week, so know that while there'll be a couple of pounds there, most is water.

What has been a real lesson for me is the effect the excess of Christmas has had on me, constantly tired, lethargic and often irritable purely as a result of food. But even worse was the combined effect of the diet and the motion of my long run on a confused digestive system: my glutes probably got a better workout than my legs this morning.

I weight in yesterday and was actually surprised that I reached my goal weight plus a loss of .8 extra pounds. I intentionally overate on Christmas, or at least I thought I did.

So...if you intentionally stopped your routine to cut it loose over the holidays, why are you surprised and bemoaning the fact you gained all that weight?
