I don't beleive so.
I believe that BMR is what your body burns, when you are sleeping.. Since you're active durring the day, you would have to eat more. You may want to google TDEE, BMR, IIYM.. They may give you a better description of what 's going on0 -
You should eat TDEE cal to maintain your weight0
-
BMR is what your body burns doing nothing so if you eat that amount you will almost certainly lose weight.
Either do a search for TDEE or use MFP, set a realistic daily activity level, set your weight loss goal to maintain current weight and eat back 50% of your exercise calories and see how you go0 -
Your TDEE is:
1596
CALORIES/DAY
I just calculated this, (without the workouts, because I don't have the exact number of workouts I do each week is different. )0 -

Basically, BMR (base metabolic rate) is the mimimum amount of calories needed to sustain life with no activity whatsoever. You need to add calories in to maintain weight, plus add some for any exercise that you do. If you are entering in all your information (current stats and goals) in MFP, it should give you the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight, and it will automatically adjust when you add in exercise.0 -
I added that I want to maintain my current weight, but MFP still gives me only 1200 calories a day (I had the same amount of them when I was losing weight) So I'm little confused and decided to ask people that understands more than me in this area and give me some advices.
Btw, few days (because of Christmas and all the yummy stuff going around my home) I've been eating around 1600 calories a day and I feel so full, and I'm really worried that I'm going to fail maintain and gain the weight back.0 -
What activity level are you entering into MFP (many just go straight to Sedentary)
MFP does set low because it assumes you are going to follow its program and eat back your exercise calories in the way that it was designed to work.
If an online calculator gives you a TDEE of 1596 then maybe start at 1400 and increase your calories by 200 every couple of weeks and check what is happening to your weight
Also do not be concerned about Christmas, it is an exceptional time of year food wise and you can easily lose anything you may have gained0 -
can you verify your height and weight? are they listed backwards or metric? If you're 5'5" and 165 lbs, your BMR would be 1593.0

Okay, now I'm seeing 1395. Makes more sense that way! Are you exercising? When you exercise and enter those calories into MFP, they should be added into your total allowed calories for the day.
As far as the holidays, a couple of days of going over your calories shouldn't make a difference. If you ate that way every single day for a couple of weeks, then you would gain weight, but it's okay to eat over the calorie limit a day or two, It all balances out if you just go under for a day or two.0 -

I'm working out whenever I have time (2/3 times a week, because recently I started a new job and I'm so tired when I go home, I just want to sleep-I can't even think about exercising), So my workouts are not regular as they used to be, so I'm worried this also could make me gain weight. Also like I said I've been scared about gaining because this week I've been eating over 1200 almost everyday. And over my sugars like with +30, but from tomorrow I want to go back to my normal eating, because I don't want to feel that way.0 -

sounds like you're ready to get back on track. Once you get the sugars back down to good levels, you'll feel better, and to be honest, less tired. High levels of sugars tend to give you spikes and crashes in your blood sugar, which leads to that very tired feeling. Try to take 15 minutes either before or after work to slowly start adding exercise. It really will make you less tired to add it in, after you do it regularly for a while. Even if you did gain weight this week, just reduce your calories and add some light exercise this week to lose it.0 -

I didn't know about the sugar stuff! Thank you so much, I learned a lot. That explains why I'm feeling like a crap. And lately I've been doing sooo well, only natural sugars (like 1 banana and oranges for the day, and maybe some dark chocolate) but these days I've been eating different cookies, greek yogurt, lindt chocolate triuffles and other junk. So I really want to stop it, and go back on my normal healthy eating. Today was better than yesterday, though. I'm slowly excluding the sweets. I mean I know sugar is addictive, and maybe that why it's so hard to stop eating those stuff. :X This post is such a mess, all over the place, sorry XD0 -
Glad to help! It sounds like you've got a good plan to wean back down and get back on track. You'll do well, I can tell!0

So, about 5 ft. 4 and 121 pounds. Here's the site i used: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
On average, with 2-3 workouts per week:
BMR: 1376
TDEE: 1893
If you choose no workouts, your TDEE is 1652.0 -
Thank you!0

That seems really low. I'm 156 and when I put my weight to 55 and put activity to sedentary my maintenance is still a little over 1500.0 -

All calculators are guesstimates. Don't get attached to a number - pick a number, any number - 1600 calories/day would be fine. Eat that way consistently for 4 weeks. If you gain weight, cut your calories by 100-200 calories/day. If you lose weight, add 100-200 calories/day.
Repeat until your weight stabilizes.0 -
I will try that. Sounds like a good idea. Now I'm eating like 1300/1400 a day? Do you think it's too much or too low?0
-
MFP had me on 1700 to maintain, I listed myself as lightly active. I got a fitbit for Christmas which I synced with MFP today and it says I should have had about 2200. I have been doing a lot more walking to hit a target of 1500 steps, just goes to show how keeping active burns calories.
Try your 1400 for a couple of weeks and see how you go but be prepared to add some if your activity levels are high, or if you lose more weight.0 -

Too low most likely.0 -

The easiest way to do this is to go to MFP under my home and set up your goals to gain 0. Enter your stats and how active you are. They will tell you how many calories to eat to stay at that. No acronyms involved.0
