P90x vs Lifting?

Now, I know P90x or whatever is effective, but should I replace lifting/cardio (all paired with a deficit) for it? I have a gym membership but I was considering investing in P90x3 for a weightloss challenge someone I know is hosting. Supposedly you can lose 10% body fat in the 90 days and my goal is 15% (I'm currently 36%). Could I yield the same results by maintaining a deficit, lifting heavy, hitting my macros, and doing cardio?

(Emphasis on maintaining a deficit!)

Jeez, you're all over the place. Just pick something and stick with it. That's the only way you'll see results.

I just asked a question. Never did I say I was going to do it, that's why I'm asking because some people have experience over one thing than the other. For the things I've "stuck with" (which, I might add, is longer than a month or whatever you presume I follow), I've not seen results. Hence why I'm trying to educate myself on what might be effective.

Actually, I feel sometimes I need to change things up or I tend to get bored.

I did the origianl P90 X twice and got Great results. I built muscle and my stomach got flatter. It sounds like it may be a good challenge.

Diet for weight control; exercise for fitness. Your fitness regimen is largely going to depend on what your specific fitness goals are. Shedding BF is all about your calorie deficit, not the particular exercise you are doing.

There are no magic bullets. It's patience, application and time.

Sure you could do p90x3 (I have no idea what it contains, though) and lose fat. You could do your existing programme and lose fat.

You just need to be able to step back and look at the bigger picture and get the diet screwed down. Until you can do that, you'll suffer from f*arounditis and get nowhere fast.

I like to change things up a lot. I have P90X but have not done it. I just completed Chalean Extreme. I have looked at the strength portions of P90X and know its not for me. There are alot of push ups and pull ups which I don't mind just to much for me. I did the P90X plyometrics for the first time this morning and I loved it. So I am going to do some strength training on my own and do the plyometrics for my intense cardio. Good Luck!

I have a boyfriend, thanks. I was hoping people were mature enough to move past that. And no, I can't decide on a program which is precisely why I'm asking for help.

@Mia- Please don't take your boredom out on me. But i have been reevaluating my diet. I weigh everything and I eat 1400 and I'm still not losing so I'm unsure as what I should do.

Don't let trollers get you upset, you are on the right track. I think either option will work and you can always change up your workout routine to keep your body guessing and to keep from getting bored. It's just important to stay consistant on just working out several times a week.

Thanks everyone. Sorry if I came off as rude I'm just frustrated because lately when I post things it's usually chock full of unhelpful replies talking about how indecisive I am. It gets old after a while. I'm aware I'm indecisive which is why I'm trying to make a decision. I just wanted some guidance.

    She actually gave solid advice....

... am unsure where the conflict is occurring?

There's something going on with the TDEE/logging/measuring/etc. If you are in a deficit and consistently following a programme, then you'll lose weight. It's that simple.

Are you eating back your exercise calories? If not, you're definately under eating at 1400 cals and that would explain your lack of resutls.

P90x3 looks pretty intense. A few guys in a daily motivation/challenge group just started it and they love it. I am a big fan of Focus T25. Just completed a round of Alpha/Beta/Gamma and lost 42 pounds and 10 inches off my waist. I also canceled my gym membership.

The advice given to me when I hit a 3 week plateau was:

    1. Evaluate my diet: Are you eating correct portion sizes, eating every 2-3 hours, maintaining a calorie deficit that is not too big.
    2. Have you been doing the same workouts for a long period of time? Try changing it up.

I have been on a cardio heavy program for quite awhile so I will be changing it up for a few weeks doing Power 90 again. Once Insanity arrives I will switch back. I hope this info helps..
