How I remind myself this won't happen overnight

Just wanted to share something I've been doing that helps me remember that my weight loss is a long term journey.

I took a calendar and charted out my expected weight each week - for example, I marked my starting weight on Day 1 (early December), and each week after that I subtracted my target weight loss of 1.5 pounds and wrote it on the calendar. I understand that weight loss is not linear - but charting it out this way, and seeing each week if I am somewhere close where I expected to be (even if it is +/- a few pounds) - reminds me that I am on the right track.

Doing this helped me clearly visualize that reaching my goal weight won't happen overnight - or even this month (though I sure wish it would!). It's going to take many months of watching my calorie intake, and working out. If i keep at it, I hope to reach my goal before summertime!

Great idea for folks that are more visual. It's hard to focus on the "I am doing the right thing" sometimes. Great job

Thanks for sharing! This is a great way to stay on track especially when you're getting started. Eventually it will just become second nature. :)
