everyone tells mostly on these forums that starvation mode is myth.
i have not seen here with men or guys
but a lot of women here come up that they stopped losing weight at 900 or 800 or 1000.
then what is this....

are these women lying that they were eating this much...

Or there metabolism slowed so much that there bodies started maintaining weight at those calories.
that there bodies only used that much energy...
i think we really need a new study on this one especially with females this time

People are bad at estimating. We tend to overestimate how much we exercise and underestimate how much we eat. These women are probably not lying, but they don't have an accurate grasp of what they are actually consuming and burning. Starvation mode isn't a myth, per se, but it doesn't work the way a lot of people on the forums seem to think (you can search the forums for "adaptive thermogenesis" for a more thorough explanation). In short, if you drastically undereat for an extended period of time (weeks, not hours) your body will shut down unecessary processes to maintain essential functions. Anyone who says they are eating less than TDEE and not losing has miscalculated somewhere. Drastically undereating will not cause you to stop losing weight, but it can cause you to cannibalize muscle tissue instead of fat, which can result in ending up "skinny-fat". There are a lot of dicsussions of both topics already that can be found by searching. Hope that helps.

Although they may not be in starvation mode, their metabolism won't be working optimally at such low calories.
Also, eat that much and then see how energetic you are. Having such low energy means that you use a lot less energy, and therefore burn less calories.
Plus, such restriction leads to binging or eating extra and not wanting to admit it.
