Please Read! Need Help with Macros..

Hi!

I started the Ideal Protein diet a few months ago. I've since "fallen off the wagon" sort of speak due to the expense and feeling like the food really wasn't all that healthy for me (I don't like to eat packaged/boxed foods/sucralose/etc). I lost about 25lbs on this diet in about 2 months.

Now, after the holidays have taken their toll, I'm up about 5 lbs but ready to get back on the train and get down to the true healthy foods. I haven't completely stopped the Ideal Protein yet but I'm moving towards that as I can't afford it/don't feel I need to spend money to lose weight, etc.

My job consists of mostly sedentary desk work, and I don't find my opportunities for exercise (although making a point to change that).

My main question is this: I know my body does better with very little carbs. What are good macro settings to lose and also stay healthy? Right now I'm set at 60% fat, 20% protein & 20% carbs I think. Thoughts??

Thanks so much!

My body is the same too - I eat a low carb high fat diet. Before when I was eating the recommended amounts of macros, i.e. mostly carbs with about 20% fat and 20% protein or thereabouts, I wasn't losing *any* weight despite lifting weights, doing HIIT and eating non-processed 'clean' foods. If it works for you, why not go back to it? I'm not a big fan of home delivery foods or pre-packaged (tend to contain a lot of flours with a high GI or a lot of sugars/sweeteners) so why not just cook for yourself from fresh using your macro guidelines? If it makes you feel any better, I haven't worked out since September yet I've lost 13lb eating fresh foods and following a low carb high fat lifestyle so maybe it would fit well with your sedentary lifestyle?
