Question regarding protein

I've recently started lifting heavy, and I read that on days I lift, I should take in 1g of protein per pound of body weight. Then I read somewhere else that it was 1g per pound of lean body mass. Naturally, those two numbers are not the same. So which one is it? Body weight is 147; LBM is 115. Thanks in advance for your help.

1g per pound of LBM or .8g per pound of total body weight.0

There really is not one amount that is best. I've done as much as 1.5 grams protein per body weight on a weight training/fat-burning program but I've also done 1 gram per body weight & 1 gram per LBM. They all worked great.0

I have a tough enough time getting 1g per pound of LBM. I'm working on it, though.0
