Re-Introduction and Looking For Support!

Hey all, I'm not at all new to MFP by any means. I've had the app on my phone since 2011! Anyhow, through my husband joining the Air Force, it taking us halfway across the country, starting a nursing program, working full time, and now on the other side of all of the Christmas baking, I've found myself 10 pounds heavier than I was this time last year...and a lot heavier than I have been in a long time. The funny thing is, I watched my weight creep up half pound by half pound on the scale, week by week and just stood by and did nothing. Not okay in my book--I've gotten so complacent! If I'm going to be preaching health to my patients, I need to set an example, so I'm NOT waiting for the New Year to get back to cracking my butt back into shape! I've started in with the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred as I've had excellent results with this program before, and I'm doing Tabata 3x weekly along with alternating ab/arm/back/leg days thrown in that mix.

I don't so much overeat or necessarily eat unhealthy (although I love, love, love my carbs), but as my husband put it so perfectly the other day, I just "don't really do anything." At least not physical, anyways. I work from home and sit at a desk for up to 8 hours a day composing medical records. Then I study until I can't see straight anymore and repeat! I know I can find time to squeeze fitness into my lifestyle, and I want to. I am 5'4" and currently 130 lb (it's painful seeing that :-/). My average weight is around 120-122, so I've got a ways to go to, but I'm hoping 30DS gives me a nice kick in the pants and push in the right direction. Talking crazy, ultimate goals, I want a subtle 6 pack and killer arms. Not manly, but visible enough that I can show off all of my hard work :) (A girl can dream, right!?)

Anywho, I don't care if you've got 1 pound or 100 pounds to lose, I want to offer you support and hope you will reciprocate. Add me as a friend, and best of luck on your journey!

    Hi there!

I too have had MFP for some time and had lost sight of my goal. I'm slowly making my way back. I am exercising every day with free weights every other day and cardio every day. I cannot afford a gym membership so I am using JeFIT app for free weights and YouTube is my best friend for fun cardio like TaeBo and following Keaira LaShae dance workouts.

I am a part-time pharmacy technician (30 hours/wk) and a part-time student. I have to re-take my pre-req's to get into pharmacy school. Its tough and some days I just wanna relax and go to sleep but I am doing this for me! I am getting married Feb 2015 and I wanna be healthy and happy. My fiance says I inspired him to also workout and after 3 months he has lost 15pounds! (must be nice!) While I am not seeing the results I want on the scale, I've only actually lost 6 pounds, I have noticed (as well as my family from outta town) I am losing inches and I can feel it in my clothes.

Its tough, and there is so much temptation out there but we can do it! so I hope you accept my friend request and I can be there for you

Well looks like I'm in your boat too. :) I'm one of the ones who has a lot still to lose & just got off take, gained about 5 lbs this holiday season but still have a lot more to lose. I have knee problems as at the present can't do any exercises but am looking for something that doesn't require your knees to help get rid of that big belly. :D Any suggestions would be welcomed. I'd love to help you get back to where you want o be with encouragement from me & all of us here at MFP.

In 30DS, Jillian always recommends stationary punches to get in cardio for those with lower body injuries, and boy, even with just a subtle or even no bend to the knees, your heart rate really rockets up there! Might be worth giving a try! :) Thanks for the add!
