I just joined today.
I'd love for someone to share a good exercise plan with me, that doesn't involve being on my feet as much.
I have a rare disease which causes my feet to blister with any little friction. It makes it very complicated to lose weight.
I'm not lazy, just incapable of being TOO active.

There is a jogging program that you can find online, it is call Couch to 5K. You start out mainly walking and slowly build up to jogging. I have been doing it for several weeks now and can now jog at 5.1 mph for 12 mins. When I started 60 secs at 5.1 was almost too much. It works great and my legs are in great shape now.0

I think biking might be okay, because there is a lot less pressure on your feet. I mean, walking and running require all your weight to be on your feet, but for bicycling, your weight is on the seat. Try a real bike or maybe those bicycling machines!
Of course, calisthenics are important, and most of them do not require you to be on your feet! All different kinds of crunches, leg lifts, and arm workouts with weights.0 -
Definately Pilates!!!!! Any kind. Its all done on a mat, some have resistance bands and things. Very good for whole body and core workouts. I do Pilates with Gin Miller you can get it from walmart only 20.00. Good luck!!!0

bkrbrandice- I have an exercise bike, but someone said if I do the same thing all the time it will stop working =/? So I need something different. or not? I have no idea
ddawson- Did you miss the part where I can't be on my feet too much? =/

Lay on the floor and do lots of leg, arm, and core exercises. Three times a week I do 100 reps in ten sets of 10. You could do a variety of sit ups, yoga type stuff, pilates stuff someone mentioned, leg scissors, hand weights, or whatever. just put on some good music and set the timer for a set time and get moving. Maybe start small like 5 mins and try to add a min a day?0

I know if you use your creative intelligence you can figure out a plan. Just make sure it is fun and dont be afraid to change. I also remembered you can use a big exercise ball to make it more fun, as well as the stretch bands someone else mentioned. Toys are fun! When I do my 10 reps of 10 situps, I try to think of new ways to do it for variety - like bent knee, straight leg, crunches, feet under couch or not, knees to the side laterals, reverse sit ups (lift the feet not shoulders), bicycles, imaginary rope pull, criss crosses, etc. The main thing you need is just the determination to do it. Think of all the people with very serious disabilites that find ways to exercise. You can do it!0
